Well, after an amazing smooth sail from Cologne, we headed out for Cochem, Germany, arriving at
1 pm.  Along the journey we passed through 2 locks enabling the boat to "rise or fall" to the needed water level.

Along the Mosel route (we left the Rhine in Koblenz, Germany), we saw lots of unique sights to include castle ruins as well as interesting looking homes.  (Sorry for the picture duplication...still trying to figure out this blogging thing).

The culmination of our day was the visit to Reichsburg Castle in Cochem.  Two of the towers were built in 1000 AD with the majority of the rest of the castle built in the 17th century.  A family home originally with the last family occupying the castle until 1943.

Well, enough of this blathering.  A well spent day in sunny Cochem where the temperature reached 63 degrees F.

Til tomorrow, peace and grace to you all.
